Anchovy Fry

Ingredient

  • 500g anchovy
  • 1tsp ginger paste
  • 1tsp garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp chilli powder
  • 1tsp pepper powder
  • 1/4 garam masala
  • 1 1/2 lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 1 Tsp rice flour
  • 1 all purpose flour
  • Curry leaf
  • Salt

 

Method

  1. Wash the anchovies and check for any scales or cut witch is not cleaned and wash it twice.
  2. Once the fish was cleaned using colander drain excess moisture allow to rest in the sink itself to drain excess moisture for 10 mins.
  3. Transfer the fish into a mixing bowl. Add all the dry ingredients and mixed well.add lemon juice  and mixed again.
  4. Cover and and allow the fish to marinate on kitchen counter or refrigerate for 1 hr.
  5. Heat enough oil in a wok on low to  medium flame. Once oil heats and drop a batch of eight to ten pieces of fish in oil and fry on low medium flame for 2 minutes each side.
  6. For crispy texture fry the fish for six to eight minutes on low flame. Once fish had fried drain from oil and reserve on a plate lined with oil observant paper, once the oil has drained serve hot.
